their work with hedge funds, prime brokers, global custodians and fund administrators. We

Howard Weinstein is the founder of FinServ Consulting. He established FinServ with the mission
to provide alternative asset management firms with the most advanced systems, best practices
insight and a structured, methodological approach to operational and systems development.
Throughout his career, Mr. Weinstein has provided consulting, systems, processes and
infrastructures to some of the world’s top alternative asset managers. Through his deep
relationships with these firms and their C-level executives, Mr. Weinstein has developed
a strong understanding of how technology can enhance an investment management
organization. He has nearly two decades of experience providing business process and
technology consulting to the financial services industry, with a focus on building
scalable, first-class operating environments.
Prior to establishing FinServ, Mr.
Weinstein served as a Managing Director for MPI Professionals, a financial services
consulting and integration firm, and as Senior Manager at BearingPoint, where he provided
business and systems consulting to major investment banks and alternative asset
management businesses. Earlier in his career, Mr. Weinstein was a consultant in the
Performance Improvement Practice of Ernst & Young Consulting. Mr. Weinstein is a
frequent speaker at industry conferences and an active participant on financial services
technology steering committees.
Lee Schare, a founding partner of FinServ Consulting, leads the firm’s Back Office consulting
practice. He has spent his career providing hedge funds and asset management firms with
robust back-office systems to manage their accounting, business management and compliance
activities.
Mr. Schare has strong combination of accounting, functional and technical
knowledge, with over 15 years of experience as a controller and as a technology professional
specializing in integrating large-scale systems. Prior to establishing FinServ, Mr. Schare
was a Director for MPI Professionals, a financial services IT consulting firm, and a Vice
President in Deutsche Bank’s CFO organization, where he project-managed a global general
ledger project. Earlier in his career, Mr. Schare worked as a Manager for Ernst & Young,
where he led large teams within their SAP practice.
Prior to working for Ernst & Young,
he was a senior consultant at Andersen Consulting, where he worked on International
projects across multiple industries. His strengths include providing strategic
direction and project management for enterprise resource planning initiatives, as
well as front-office and operational systems integration.
Paul DeAngelo leads FinServ Consulting’s Middle Office consulting practice. Mr. DeAngelo, a
founding partner, has over 15 years experience working in the alternative asset management
industry, with the world’s top hedge funds, global custodians, brokerage and investment
banking firms.
While he has experience with many different types of fund strategies, he
has worked closely with several of the leading distressed debt funds amassing extensive
experience in this highly specialized field. He specializes in designing, building and
implementing middle-office technology to help managers move toward more institutionalized,
compliant and transparent operating models. His experience includes developing systems for
decision support, portfolio accounting, financial and performance management, market and
reference data and client reporting.
Prior to establishing FinServ Consulting, Mr.
DeAngelo was a senior manager for MPI Professionals, a financial services IT consulting
firm, and an AVP at Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was responsible for IT
Investment Data Management and Portfolio Accounting Systems. While at Credit Suisse,
he also worked on a data reengineering project to move the firm toward straight through
processing. Earlier in his career, he worked as a software developer for Tiger
Management, Morgan Stanley and UBS/Paine Webber.
Todd Piskadlo leads FinServ Consulting ‘s Front Office consulting practice. He has 15 years
experience in financial services, focused in finance, operations, accounting and project
management, with particular emphasis on the front office and compliance.
His background
includes equity and fixed income sales and trading, corporate and public finance, equity
and credit derivatives, treasury and global credit. Mr. Piskadlo has worked with
multi-billion-dollar hedge funds implementing execution management systems, P&L platforms,
investment databases, document management systems and other key systems.
Prior to joining
FinServ Consulting, he spent a decade at Bear Stearns, as an Operations and Finance
Director on the International Equity Sales & Trading Desk, and as an accountant and
auditor in the Internal Audit Group, where he conducted reviews to ensure the firm’s
domestic and international offices were operationally sound and compliant. Prior to
working at Bear, Mr. Piskadlo served as a consultant with Bearing Point’s World Class
Finance Practice, formally KPMG Consulting, where he provided services to global
investment banks.
Andrew Quan leads the firm’s Risk Management consulting engagements. He has extensive
experience providing systems integration and technology infrastructure project management
services to alternative asset management firms and global financial services organizations.
He has worked closely with multi-billion-dollar hedge funds on asset management projects,
compensation platforms, compliance projects and other key systems.
Prior to joining FinServ
Consulting, Mr. Quan served as a Senior Consultant in BearingPoint’s Financial Services
Technology Infrastructure and Integration practice, providing infrastructure project management
services to the Global Markets division of a major investment bank, as well as to other
front-office businesses via the bank’s cross-silo infrastructure technology division.
While at BearingPoint, he also developed a software development lifecycle program for
another investment bank’s Information Technology Group. Earlier in his career, Mr. Quan
served as a consultant in Arthur Andersen’s Business Consulting practice, where he
specialized in customer relationship management (CRM).
